The countdown begins

Scriptural readings: Ephesians 5:15-17; II Timothy 4:2-5

When I was a kid, I had these kind of cheap wind up toys.I spent hours playing these toys not knowing that there are spiritual lessons about this. It was only lately that I knew that my dad, just like my Heavenly Father is giving me a message that is of so much essence in my life today that I have to share(very important too!).

I remember spending time with these toys(had a lot of fun too!) for the reason it works only for a short time. The process of which I did not know[only lately] that it has spiritual lessons for us to learn. When you wind up this kind of toy, using a key, will totally blow your mind(as a kid of course)! I spent hours and hours with these toys not knowing that now it brings a lot of valuable lessons.

Ephesians 5:15-17

v.15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

v.16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

v.17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord [is].

Our lives, just like these wind up toys would end up shortly. Once the key is turned and its full, it will wind down. This is the part where the toys make wonders for kids, and so for us. We have to redeem the time. Let us make this time of spreading the Gospel of Jesus as wonderful time for us. This is the time that we should exhaust our efforts for our Lord and Savior Jesus to understand what is His will.

II Timothy 4

v.2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

v. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

v. 4 And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

v. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

We have to carry out His instructions. The key as that of the wind up toy once turned, the countdown begins. We have to do verse 2 (Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine). We have to be well aware of verses 3 (For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;) and 4(And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.) and finally experience verse 5( But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.)

We were given a time frame. One day the world will end. Nothing should stop us from accomplishing these things for our Lord Jesus Christ. We were given the task to redeem the time. This is an instruction a commandment and we have make it happen because the countdown has begun.

Heavenly Father, we are bound for eternity, until then let us learn the value of this while we live in a limited time in this world. We can never have the luxury of time. Teach us the real meaning and value of time that we might be valuable to you. In the might name of Jesus we pray. Amen!

Do you like gifts?

Scriptural Readings: Psalms 46:1; Matthew 7:7-8; Matthew 6:33; Galatians 5:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11

A thing for sure is that having gifts thrills us a lot. We love surprises.

What is really wonderful being about Christians is that we are considered as children of God. Just as our earthly parents love to give us gifts so does our heavenly Father because He loves us!

46 v.1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

The first thing though, that we have to know and admit and is very important is that we are the creation. We are God’s children and being children in this world we will be having needs. We are weak and vulnerable. There are in particulars that we have to have. We will be having problems sooner or later. We need God.

Matthew v.7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

v.8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

What is wonderful about this is that our Father knew what we need. Aside from our prayers and supplications, He gives us gifts.

There are a lot of things that we have to look in to. What happens next? What have we done with God’s gift? Why do we still complain and ask for more? Did we ever ask why we need gifts? Do we need these gifts even if we are already old?

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Spiritual gifts are entirely different form materials things that we received from our earthly parents. Our earthly parents wants us to be happy with material things like money and all things that money can buy. It satisfies our earthly pleasure not His.

God’s gift, on the other hand is ours to use forever for His glorification. They are given to us so that we would be equipped with our spiritual lives. These gifts are given for us to open up and enrich our spiritual senses in order to know God and to be closer to Him.

Galatians 5:22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Galatians 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

1 Corinthians 12:1-11

v.1 Now concerning spiritual [gifts], brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

v.2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.

v.3  Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and [that] no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

v.4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

v.5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

v.6  And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

v.7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

v.8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

v.9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

v.10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another [divers] kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

v.11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

One or more of these gifts are freely given to us. It is a part of us that we have to use for the Body of Christ. Now there are more reasons why we have to be thrilled and be happy about having gifts.

Heavenly Father, we would never ask for more than having You as our Father. We long for your gifts. Let the Holy spirit fill us that we may continue to be your children and follow You. We pray in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen!

You’ve got to do something

Scriptural Readings: Philippians 4:6

What does it feel after a day’s work? Maybe some of us have the feeling of “That’s it, I cannot stand it anymore” and the next thing that would spring into your mind is to give up or just do nothing. That would be a big relief right?

I do not think that this a good idea and entirely different when it comes to our spiritual lives.

verse 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

There should be no idle second.

God knows that we need something. He knows as we go along with our spiritual lives we will be needing a lot of things from Him.

Be careful for nothing.

It is just like running out of things around the house. Things will go out of hand if mom finds out that there is no sugar. If no one wants to take the garbage out and many more.

In our spiritual lives when we tend to become idle this is the best time that the enemy would come and invade us. We can be even fooled into thinking that we are actually doing the God’s will but the fact is that God wanted us to move along and do something and again should not be having idle moments in our spiritual lives.

but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Prayer and supplication is a phrase that we should look into. The apostle Paul made sure that aside from our prayers we should ask what we need(supplication). He separated the words prayer and supplication to remind us that we the creation needs a lot from our creator.

Prayer

We come in God’s presence in many ways and as we pray this is the time that we meet our Heavenly Father. Jesus made us a pattern on what manner should we pray on Matthew 6:9-13. This builds a strong relationship and serves as a foundation to our faith in Him. This quiet time of prayer transcends God’s instructions to us whether we like it or not. It is our decision to do it sooner or later.

supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

What is amazing about this continuation of the verse is that God knows already what we need. And for us to strengthen our faith in Him, aside from the things that we need and asked He will add the things that we missed! All we have to do is make Him known our needs. Isn’t He an awesome God!

We need a lot of things be it spiritual or material things. When we go through with our daily lives we go through a lot of frustrations that will drag us down affecting our spiritual lives. Even before we could have known that we will be idle, God will bring us to a better situation that we will never ever regret. Let us… Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Heavenly Father, may You be Glorified! We can never be the child You want us to be with out Jesus. Let your will be done not ours and we can only do this through your son Jesus our Lord and Savior. Let your Holy Spirit work on us as we go through with our daily lives. Thank you in Jesus name we pray. Amen!

Do you know Jesus?….

Scriptural Readings: Hebrews 11:6, Psalms 14:1, John 3:16, John 14:6

Do we know Jesus? Interesting enough this has been a question for everyone to ask. Is Jesus just a man? Is He a God? For centuries He has been a topic trying to disprove Him as God(the Son of God of course) and only to arrive in a conclusion to many as saying He has been a source of life. To those who question Him being the son of God and being God Himself is facing a lifetime of dilemma and uncertainties for the rest of their lives. The only thing that they will face and will end up with is to try and try to disprove this reality that Jesus is the Son of God Himself! The only proof they have is science but then again science points them to what they are disproving is actually a God that they cannot disprove. They may pick up some questions along the argument but then again this will not prove any of their claims. The thing that they miss is faith. This is because they refuse this. Hebrews 11:6 ” But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”. They do not want seek Him but instead they want to disprove Him!

God has already proven His omnipresence by sending His Son Jesus Christ from out of heaven to this miserable and lost world. It is not really difficult to see and experience the love of God. Say for instance the things around us are so vast that words will run out to describe and explain how these things come into existence and to make mention the things impossible for the eyes to see. All of these tells us of His omnipotence. The odd thing is that they are giving their lives disproving which they believe do not exist. I do not think that is logical. If one try to prove that is nothing out there then what is the use of giving so much of their time proving nothing is out there. That does not make any sense. This put them in to a situation that they knew in the first place that there is God out there. Psalms 14:1 To the chief Musician, [A Psalm] of David.
The fool hath said in his heart, [There is] no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, [there is] none that doeth good.

The word fool in Hebrew is nabal(naw-bawl’) meaning stupid; wicked (especially impious):– fool(-ish, -ish man, -ish woman), vile person. This word is a primitive root of the word nabel(naw-bale’) to wilt; generally, to fall away, fail, faint; figuratively, to be foolish or (morally) wicked; causatively, to despise, disgrace:–disgrace, dishounour, lightly esteem, fade (away, – ing), fall (down, -ling, off), do foolishly, come to nought, X surely, make vile, wither.

For whatsoever reason that this person has fallen away from his or her faith or they may not have faith at all, they were fooled. They think and they say to themselves that there is no God. They are considered fool or foolish. The result, they have become corrupt and the things that they can do are only abominable things.

It is now crystal clear that they cannot disprove God because it is impossible. When they finally practice faith then and only there that they will find out there is God and this time they will figure it out that they were wrong. To go against something that you do not know is foolish in nature and one will end up doing foolish things. In the same manner if one would dispute the existence of God with out knowing who this God you are trying to disprove, you will end up the loser.

An almighty God exist(Praise God!). This is a fact! Jesus is the image of the invisible God and who having the Father with Him created all things(Colossians 1:12-17).

verse 12  Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

verse 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated [us] into the kingdom of his dear Son:

verse 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, [even] the forgiveness of sins:

verse 15  Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

verse 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

verse 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

God’s omniscience holds the future, our future. There will never be a point of argument. Our God reached out for His lost children. God became a man(Jesus Christ) that we might be back to the original purpose of our Father of being His children. The only way the only truth and the only life is in Jesus Christ the Son of the living God.

Do you know Jesus?….

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Spiritual walk or run?

Scriptural Readings: Luke 22:42, Hebrews 12:1- 3

At this point of time the Lord has got a lot of things for me to accomplish and I have to make this time His time. This is a time of sanctification for you and I. As we follow His instructions for us, we have to do it with no delay. As we accomplish His instructions for us, we become better Christians and useful for God.

As Christians, we all know that when we got born again, we become a new creature in Jesus Christ and the moment we receive the status of co heir with Jesus we have to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, no exception and with no reservation.

The fact is as we deal with our lives, whether our spiritual lives or our earthly lives, we always face difficulties. Getting our body soul and spirit one with God’s spirit requires some serious efforts and sometimes a time consuming process. There are times we have to have some painful moments or unacceptable situations just for us to realize we are doing the wrong thing.

This is the time that we have to ask God “Should I slow down or speed up”? Spiritual maturity depends on how we follow God.This is why sometimes we have to walk or sometimes we have to run with regards with our spiritual lives.

Jesus walked slowly towards His death bearing all the pain and shame for us. Some of us right now are carrying our crosses slowly and having this inner feeling of giving up. Jesus was confronted with same thing. He saw exactly what will happen to Him(Luke 22:42). Keep in mind that these things will happen to us. Each and everyone of us who will follow Jesus will have a cross to bear.

Now we are on a race. We are told to run the race with patience. Setting aside all the things that will make it difficult for us. We are asked to look upon our Lord and savior Jesus Christ as an example who saw not the difficulties, pain, shame and all those things that would make it impossible for us to have fellowship with God. This time Jesus saw the joy that would be not only for Him but for all of us who will follow him. We have to install in our minds how He endured these things that we should not get tired and lose the purpose of running this race. The purpose of this race is to carry on this race whether we walk or run and to fix our eyes on Jesus Who is the author and finisher of our faith(Hebrews 12:1- 3).

Yes, there are things that seems to be impossible to accomplish His will and instructions for us but Jesus the author and finisher of our faith will slow us down to let us see what He wants us to see and on the other hand will speed up things for us to accomplish His will to the end.

Heavenly Father, allow us walk and follow the footsteps of your Son Jesus Christ. Let us not get weary and lose the heart to run the race that you have set before us. In the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ we pray. Amen

Time is up

Scriptural Readings Genesis 1:4-5, Ecclesiastes 3, Luke 12: 19-20

Time is important. I think that there is no point of argument on this statement. All of us follow a time frame including God. There is a culmination for everything. 24 hours seem to be short and we need more. Why do people need more time? There are also people who have all the time in the world.

When God divided the light, He called the light day and the darkness He called night (Genesis 1:4-5). This is one day. Is it 24 hours? What is the importance, involvement and the consequences of these for all of us? Why do we have to know the answer to all these things?

A day is always ahead of us. What does it mean? It means that we have to be open and be well aware for His instructions, blessings or may be something else. This day is not ours to own. A day was made because He has a purpose for this(Ecclesiastes 3). The problem is that we are always occupied with what we have to do for a single day. Most of the time we never ask what is His will for us for that day or a particular day and that is why we always get into trouble. We tend to think more of ourselves instead of Him and this is why we are defeated with just one day of worries, loneliness and all emotional downsides. Time framed us instead of framing our time for Him. Our days are numbered and we should be wise living our lives by turning our focus and the whole of our spirit, soul and body to the day for our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. We should always think that our time is always up.This kind of attitude will bring us closer to Him who made the day and who made us. Again we do not hold our time (Luke 12: 19-20) and let God handle our time.

God prepared a new heaven and earth so there is a time that all things will pass away and new things will come. The time that we invested just for the personal reason outside God’s intervention is just a waste of time. Our time is up. We have to let God operate every second of our time to Him in exchange for eternity.

Heavenly Father, choosing our time to spend without you is a total waste of time. Let your appointed time be upon us that we might continue the true meaning of our lives. Make this time available to us in no time. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Peace of mind

Scriptural Reading John 14: 26-27

We live and survive in a jittery or agitated world. An environment controlled and is more likely to be submissive to every kind of evil influences. The minute we open our eyes whether we like it or not we will be confronted by vagueness and hesitations.

Once again as Christians, we are protected and authorized by God’s power. We have the spirit of Jesus in our spirit, soul and body and this means that we have no reason not to accomplish and follow God’s instructions.

God has always something for us. A purpose. We are a part of this purpose and sometimes we give way to some excuses when we do God’s work and it should not be delayed and it should not be this case and if He is doing something, this means we will also be rewarded.

One of the many causes of the delay of God’s work is our emotions. For whatever reason or reasons we have this feeling to step back or hold back.

v.26 But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

In this passage, Jesus in His words reminded us that the Holy Spirit will teach us and will bring to our minds whatsoever He said unto us.

The word “said in Greek is epo, meaning a primary verb used only in the definite past tense. It is identical to rheo also a primary verb meaning flow or through the idea of pouring forth). If we are going to study deeply and carefully about what Jesus is telling us, the word saidHe was telling and referring to us are obviously His words. They are not simply words but powerful words. His words with power were poured and is flowing in our spirit, soul and body. Now having this same power given to us by our Heavenly Father through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we can now handle and face whatever holding or taking us back from accomplishing our mission coming from God.

v.27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

These are powerful words from our savior Jesus Christ. Have we ever imagine how powerful these words are? The powers with in these words are the same powers that created our world. These words become powerful because it came from the omnipotent God!

The peace He left (Peace I leave with you) us will stay with us because He has given(my peace I give unto you) it to us and He will never take it back. It will be and is a part of our sanctification. A promise to make our lives as Christians easier.

Jesus knows that we are going to depend and look for peace outside not inside (not as the world giveth,). He knows that one way or the other we will be having a wavering faith(Let not your heart be troubled). This is why His words by the power of the Holy Spirit will continue to remind us the power of God’s words flowing in us. In the court of law if the judge said innocent then it is indeed innocent. The judge is the source of the power of the words. If the words will not come from the judge then it has no effect. The same for Christians. Jesus words are powerful because He is God himself and these words make the difference.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. These powerful words which he left and given in order to flow in our whole being with out a doubt and with no reservation should be claimed by each and every Christians. We will continue to be a defeated Christian if we will not claim this promise.

The thing that we have to do right now is to live triumphantly through Jesus and His words inside of us, His words that is flowing in us, a peace of mind.

Who we are inside

Scriptural reading Romans 7:15-20; verse 4 (New International Version);1 Corinthians 14:33 King James Version (King James Version)

Struggling is a common part for everyone. As Christians, we have a spiritual war that has already been won through Jesus Christ but the fact is that we have to slug it out or have it in a battle and we have to win this battle the hard way. It is not easy to kick the habit of smoking or getting rid with addictions for people who do not trust God. On the other hand, it can be the same with Christians who might be facing the same things or might be even worst.

We might realize it or not but the battle ground is ourselves. Our body is the site where decisions are made whether it is going to be good or bad. We have to see ourselves from deep with in us. We have to see who we are from inside in order to resolve the existing conflict. We are weak from inside. As a matter of fact we cannot save ourselves. How is it possible to win the battle and the war if the bottom line is we cannot save ourselves. The truth is the enemy is ourselves. When we face ourselves, we face the enemy.

Verse 15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.

Just to start with, confusion is present. ” I do not understand what I do”. We are confused. This is the result when we decided to work something that is good and guess what? We refuse to do it! “For what I want to do I do not do“, we do exactly the opposite “but what I hate I do”. A question that we asked repeatedly to ourselves why we love doing it again and again?

1 Corinthians 14:33 King James Version (King James Version)

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

God will never and ever confuse us. The devil the father of lies is doing everything to make us lie. He uses our body to make up our mind and decide the wrong things “but what I hate I do”.

Verse 16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good.

Sin with in us binds us with the law. It prevents us from doing God’s will. When we are finally successful of doing the wrong things ” And if I do what I do not want to do”, the law is now right. It is now more true and definite that we are sinners and we’re helpless with out Jesus.

Verse 17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me.

It is now very clear that inside us we are having a battle. We struggle against sin inside of us. We know our sinful nature confront what is true and right and the result is that always sin wins. Sin is stronger than we are and that is why we need a savior not just a savior but God Himself in the person of Jesus Christ.

Verse 18 For I know the good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.

Sometimes we are fooled to believe that nothing is really good in us. We are Christians and we have to stand on the promise that we are the children of God. We are able and has the capacity to perform what God has instructed us.

Verse 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do- this I keep on doing.

Verse 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

Summing up verses 19 and 20. We are on our way to doomsday. Since we cannot save ourselves, then we need JESUS CHRIST.

verse 4 So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead in order that we might bear fruit for God.

If we back track a bit, the solution to the battle who we are inside is nothing but a lost in every way creature. Our actions and decisions can never be admissible and gratifying in God’s presence. It was the atoning death on the cross by Jesus and through His resurrection that made us belong to Him and finally winning the battle that we might bear fruit for God.

Yes, you and I can bear fruit. We are now completely changed. Now we know our position. Our position in Jesus Christ has over turned the table. Through Jesus Christ we can finally win the battle. The war is over.

Now this is who we are inside, we are the children of God.

Knock..Knock….Who is there?

Scriptural Readings.  Exodus 20:2; 2 Corinthians 6:18; Luke 11:11-13; Luke 11: 9

“Knock..Knock….Who is there?” This is an old joke that most of us probably already had known which starts with “Knock..Knock..Who’s there?”. When it comes to making us laugh, most of us are more attentive and more serious to it. Talk shows, comedy films and stand up comedy on bars are only few that one can catch up with the latest jokes. But what if you have been having a lot of things to settle to yourself like financial problems, domestic problems? Do you think you need a little bit of sense of humor or do you think this is the time that we knock and knock to our God? Right?

While many are arguing about how do we call our God(Jesus said simply our Father) we should be more importantly and be well sensible of our relationship with our God. Jesus taught us that if we pray, we have to address our prayer to our Heavenly Father. If He is our Father then we are His children. What does it mean? It means that we came from Him! Do we fully understand what this means? Have we seen and fully comprehended what it is to be His children? Is this relationship entirely different from our earthly father? Surely, we will be bogged down by problems and as Christians we should be more definite that we should come to the throne of grace of our God. Our spirits should be in depth in all undertakings with what God has to say.

Exodus 20:2

I [am] the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

Obviously, it tells us that we should acknowledge Him as our God but in this modern world, one might argue that it does not matter anymore if He has taken us out from Egypt. Jesus has already freed us. That is true, one thing though that we might have missed is the power that He has shown. This is the same power that He has entrusted to us His children through His Son our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We have the same power to be freed from any bondage!

2 Corinthians 6:18

And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Luke 11:11-13

verse 11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if [he ask] a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

verse 12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

verse 13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

With this established and accepted relationship with our Heavenly Father through our Lord Jesus Christ, where do we stand? Now here comes the perfect part. Here is what Jesus promised.

Luke 11: 9

verse 9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

As children of God, we now know that the door of heaven will be opened for us. We have a loving Father. A Father who will provide and give us all the things we need, be it physical or spiritual through His Son Jesus Christ.

If you will knock and knock.. I [am] the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

Who…What…When…Where…Why?

Scriptural Reading John 10:30; I Peter 1:15-16; John 3:3; Revelation 21:1-3; Romans 8: 14-17

A day never ends with out having good news or bad news. Sooner or later or whether we are interested or not, one way or the other we are going to be affected on what is happening in and around us. We cannot escape news. The Cyberworld or cyberspace which involves the inter computer communication nowadays is the hub, core and the heart for a lot of us in order to obtain information and to top it all fresh news locally and around the world.

Living in the secular world, we are to live and survive with a who, what, when, where and why. It is always a question of who, what, when, where and why in order to have a continuation of maintaining finances and keeping up with present and the future etc. In short, how to survive.

On the other hand, have we given ourselves a real and by heart serious thoughts on about how do we have to govern our spiritual lives with the who, what, when, where and why?

John 10:30

I and [my] Father are one.

Let us first start with the who. Who are we going to depend and believe on? In the spiritual domain we have to look upon and to admit that we are vincible, vulnerable and of course powerless. It is imperative that we need God. This should be the first. Now the invisible God the Father is now seen in the person of Jesus Christ the begotten Son(God). We can now see the Father in the person of Jesus Christ. I and the Father are one. The God that cannot be seen and touched revealed Himself in a human form in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus is up front behind the unseen Father God making the two of them only one God in essence and existence. This is the relationship of a father to a son and the son to a father. Now we know that the power that we are having is coming from our Heavenly Father through His Son our Lord and savior Jesus Christ as the Holy Spirit reveal to us.

I Peter 1:15-16

v.15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

v.16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Next in line is what. What happens next if we are saved? Holiness and sinfulness simply cannot exist together. Sanctification is what we have to undergo. We cannot have a continuous relationship with the Father if we commit the same sins repeatedly. Every christian will go through with sanctification. God will make sure that we will be holy as He is. First is who and that will be God who will give us the power. Next is what and this is the business of making us holy. Sanctification.

John 3:3

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

The next question is when?. The who is when we come to the knowledge that God is the One we need. What will be referred to as the sanctification. So when all these things going to happen?. All these things happened when we got born again. When we accepted Jesus Christ as our lord and savior. When we with our mouths confessed that Jesus is lord and savior we were born in the spirit and this is the time that we have to live holy. There are a lot of whens in our spiritual life and these whens can be dealt by acknowledging that we need a savior as we go through with sanctification.

Revelation 21:1-3

verse 1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

verse 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

verse 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God [is] with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, [and be] their God.

Now that we know the who, what, when now we are going to look at the where. Where designate places. We can formulate a lot of questions regarding where in our spiritual walk but we should be excited about where we are going to spend the rest of our eternal life. Christians should be thrilled about the final place where we will be spending. We are just passing through in this world and our permanent habitation is the new earth. God promised that there will be a new heaven and earth and this is where we are going to spend eternity with our God.

Romans 8: 14-17

verse 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

verse 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

verse 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

verse 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with [him], that we may be also glorified together.

And finally why. Why all these things of who, what ,when and where? The world the we live in right now is basically run by a system where in we are controlled by the idea of having more. If the parents are rich it would be more likely that the children or the heir would be rich. Exactly the same we are heading to. God sent (who)Jesus and (when) we accepted Him as our Lord and Savior(what) happened next is that we are sanctified that is (why) we are now joint heirs with Jesus Christ to our Heavenly Father.

Holy Father continue your work in us.Let us be the bearer of the good news(Gospel)of Jesus Christ. Let your will be done as we share the… Who…What…When…Where…Why. Amen!
