What is the difference between a gun and a car?

Scriptural Readings: 1st Corinthians 3:19-20, Romans 1:21-22

There will always be dissatisfaction or discontentment. Make sure about it. Otherwise we will not ask questions and look for better things in our lives. We will always need answers.

Out from curiosity and discontentment rise our questions. Have we ever asked ourselves why in the first place we raised such questions? We know that when we reach dissatisfaction and we have to address this we are going to ask the question why do we have to arrive at this place in our lives over and over again? The next thing and as always and normally we do is turn to our faculty of intelligence once again. This is where the valuable time is wasted because our questions will lead to other questions and therefore we have to be satisfied or otherwise continue to raise questions and look for satisfaction. One thing we know is that when we traced back in our lives from that time when we were looking for answers from the previous questions and finally we got it and the next thing we know is that we have fallen on this course and the cycle goes on. We are trapped in this situation. There could never be satisfaction.

1st Corinthians 3:19-20

v.19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

v.20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

There is no doubt that we are truly and totally incomplete being and incapable of having satisfaction and truly believing and living the idea to be fitted into a perfect way of living and out from our own finite minds that we look and rely for answers.

We have to be reminded always that even acquiring the highest ability of obtaining answers we will discover at times it will suffice but our uncertainties embedded in us looking for more truth and that even our own lifetime will never reach the satisfaction that we are looking for. What is out there that we rely on wisdom of this world will never ever give us the right and perfect answer. The highest attainable knowledge that humans can be having is not even close to what God is and has.

Romans 1:21-22

v. 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified [him] not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

v. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

We have detached ourselves from the original purpose God has for us. Instead of reaching out for Jesus for everything that we need, we concocted our own way to live our lives. We think that guns were made to kill. Yes, it will be utilize to eradicate evil in the society but then again it can be used to kill the innocent. A car can be made in to an ambulance saving humans it could also be use to run away from a crime. We make arguments on these and more seeking and thinking one would be right and the other wrong. We profess we are wise but the truth is we are fools.

We think we know the answer to anything and everything. We theorize hoping the answer is just around the corner. Aside and outside from Jesus there are no possible answers. We will continue to have dissatisfaction and discontentment until we accept the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary. Only Jesus can truly give satisfaction and contentment. He will fulfill all God’s promises as soon as we accept Him as Lord and Savior. We will continue to have revelations as soon as we put our full trust and faith in Him. We can now clearly see the difference between our foolish life we are living before and the new life that we have in Jesus Christ.

No Christian is exempted.

Scriptural Readings: Matthew 10:30, John 11:26, Matthew 10:32, Galatians 5:22-23, John 15: 5,8

How do many of us react with feelings in an instant? Making feelings as a gauge? Sometimes we do sometimes we don’t. We have to be honest to ourselves. One thing is true and that is the difficulty to choose between what we feel is right and our final decisions. Feelings and decisions are two different things that we have to settle. One way or the other we are going to make a decision and more often we have a lot of things to consider and more time to think ending up not quite sure.

We have to make a decision. Yes this is true and one way or the other we are going to make use of our feelings. The question is where is Jesus in this endeavour of ours.

Matthew 10:30

But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

Love is intrinsic in us. Despite the fact that we are sinners, God left us with love. He did not take away the love inside of us. This is the reason why we have to share this love. God is Love. He wants us to spread this love. This is the gospel of Jesus Christ(John 3:16). We should not forget that we are created in the image of God. We are handcrafted by God. Each and everyone of us is very important in His eyes. He knows us from top to bottom, inside out.

Our relationship to God through Jesus is the most important thing that would ever happen in our lives. Our decisions outside God’s will can sometimes come into fruition but will never come into full satisfaction. We are saturated with things on the internet with arguments from a Christian to another. Our byword is “this is what my pastor says”. Did it ever cross our minds what Jesus says? We are encouraged to buy books that have no intention of telling us to trust the finished work of Jesus at Calvary instead of reading and studying the bible. The difficulty of seeing the right answers for our lives and our sick society is so remote because the answer who is Jesus the son of the living God is not even an option for others. We have the marching order that we have to spread the good news of Jesus Christ.

John 11:26

And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Matthew 10:32

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

There should be no exemption when we say we are Christians. Our acts, decisions and endeavours should be God’s revelation through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We should be carrying the Gospel of Jesus Christ with us. This is what we have that others do not have. We have the Gospel. We have Jesus who died on the cross for us. This is salvation by grace not by works. He rose from the dead giving us eternal life taking us with Him living together with the Father and the Holy Spirit forever.

Galatians 5:22-23

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

How can we know we become a real Christian? We pray and ask God for the fruit of the Holy Spirit that we would be christ-like. In this way we can be identified as followers of Jesus Christ. What would possibly happen next is to wait. Right?

John 15:5

I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

John 15:8

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

The fruit of the Holy Spirit will only be seen in us if we continue having a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the son of the living God. As we enjoy a time with Jesus, the fruit of the Holy Spirit will be seen in us. The time that we are having with Him, the fruit will be produced in us coming from the Father. We have to be first, attached to the vine and the fruit will be developed in us and manifested which cannot be acquired overnight. A thing that is impossible and cannot be produced by ourselves and only Jesus can. Our Christians lives should be dependent on Him. The reality of spirituality is in Jesus Christ. This is the decision and the direction that we will never ever regret to abide in the Son of the Living God… Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. Now we have no reason why we should not spread the good news of Jesus Christ. No Christian is exempted. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

“Lazarus come…..”

Scriptural Readings: John 10:27-28, John 11:43

A busted car engine is simply dead and cannot take us anywhere. It’s dead engine needs someone to work on it again otherwise it is forever dead. The engine for whatsoever reason cannot receive communication from the different parts of the car making it dead, unproductive and worthless.

John 10:27-28

27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.

This thing is not really far from what we might be thinking right now. We cannot go anywhere with our spiritual status because we are simply dead with the things that we really needed. Dead means no communication. Unless we hear the God’s voice and His revelations then and only then we can move forward with assurance and confidence.

John 11:43

43 When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”

The word of God is always true on this matter. We are dead and there is only One way that can make things alive again and that voice continually raised saying to us rise and that voice is the voice of Jesus Christ. Jesus with a loud voice is asking us to rise. We could be dead on something that he wants us to do. Just like Lazarus He loves us so much. This is the first thing that He wants us to know!

We have a purpose in life. God through Jesus has given us a mission to accomplish and unless we continually are dead we cannot have revelations unless Jesus will bring us back to life we will never accomplish these missions for God’s glorification.

We have to come out from the things that make us dead from the reality that without God’s intervention in our lives we will remain inside our graves dead to what is supposed to be a wonderful relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that would lead to satisfaction and contentment and above all God’s glorification.

As Christians we should hear His voice. A thing that we have to do and should not end there because Jesus has His revelations for us. As sheeps, the only voice that we are going to hear is the voice of God in Jesus Christ not what others opinions and what they say and do, not in books that offer a lot of options on how to live life. Just like Lazarus who was dead and with God’s power through Jesus Christ heard God’s voice come out from the grave. Jesus is alive and we are the ones who are dead. We are the ones who should hear the voice telling us to follow Him. Once we hear His voice, it is time to act on it. It is the acting upon that will make us truly alive in Him.

It’s difficult…it’s impossible.

Scriptural Readings: Matthew 19:26

We always exert our effort our best if not most of the time at times with all the things that we do. During this time we attach the word difficult maybe at the beginning or at the middle and sometimes we end up concluding it’s impossible.

Life itself is difficult. Rich people whom we think should not be having difficulties in life because of their riches would be probably having difficulties juggling their time how to maintain their riches. Difficult times like health issues, lack of family time and as well as personal time at the end of the day we conclude it’s difficult and sometimes being impossible.

It is a fact that even before we start with all the things that we want to accomplish we always have to put in our minds the difficulties we are facing and just on the planning itself we arrive with impossibilities up to a point that quitting is the best option.

Matthew 19:26

But Jesus beheld [them], and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

In this passage alone we should see that Jesus is the only and entirely the answer to everything. Our way whether we seek for salvation, success and all endeavor will come to naught and to its end without Jesus in the equation. It may seem that we actually have success but only to realize it is only a smaller part of a bigger job and seeing that it is becoming more and more difficult for these undertakings and clearly has become impossible for us to continue.

but with God all things are possible

Having success in all aspects is first that it should and has to be God’s will. Unless we seek God through our Lord Jesus there will be no revelations from Him making things impossible for us to do His will…but with God all things are possible. The Holy Spirit who will reveal things to our mortal bodies will in turn and now allow to be under the control of Him and in no other way but to follow therefore beating the purpose of the flesh. Let us put in our minds that we do not have the capacity to change ourselves but only God through Jesus. God will work for us, inside us. We cannot and it is impossible to do it by ourselves. It seems and becomes difficult and impossible because we have forgotten a time of prayer and full trust in Him. We are overwhelmed with our emotions instead of having a much stronger faith and thinking that our struggles and problems are bigger than our God. Let us not turn our backs from God. He never turned His on ours as a matter of fact He sent His Son to touch us.

Whatever struggles we are having today making it difficult and impossible, we have to surrender it all to Jesus. He is at the right hand of God making intercessions to make things easy and possible for us. It may seem that we are fighting this battle alone, we are gravely, greatly and totally mistaken. It is not our battle. It is His. He is totally in control of our lives. We have to see the truth that at the end of every struggle is victory in Jesus Christ. This is the truth and Jesus is the truth and the truth shall make you free. Alleluia! Amen!
