Just like the Master

Scriptural Readings: Matthew 10:1; 11:1;27; 18: 1-4

The cyber world, digital world, whatever you call it, this is the wireless world that we are to live. A world that we made to live side by side with the fourth industrial revolution, computers, gadgets and a lot more which might dictate our 24/7. It can be a wonderland for us or can be a real nightmare. Are these things that we’ve made invaded our territories or are we tasked to conquer this land or this kind of world connected and joined with microchips ready to wage war or just maybe that this will give us the peace we need. In this cyber world that we are living right now, we can easily believe, appreciate and rely on the things that we see. An attitude of ours that the Lord Jesus knows and He has something for us to know and do.

Matthew 10

v.1 And when he had called unto [him] his twelve disciples, he gave them power [against] unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

As Christians we should be thrilled with this verse. The 12 disciples are no different from any of us today living in this modern times, we can also be doing the same things. We are also the disciple of Jesus. The word “mathetes” a Greek word also from another Greek word “manthano” meaning a learner or in other words a pupil was used in this verse. Any other Christians like you and I have the authority to perform such because we the pupils and Jesus being our teacher will teach us how to do it in this modern world run by microchips!

Obviously our Lord Jesus wants us right now in this modern advanced world to conquer the unconquered places to step in and share the good news. We should also keep up with the times. Jesus sent the 12 with a mission and we have to keep it this way, continue what Jesus commanded us. As every microchip that contributes and does their individual part, we all have our individual parts too. Our Lord will send us out there to complete one thing, His will!

Matthew 11

v.1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.

This is what happens next. After we have done our jobs, He will take over. This is where the true power lies. The gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. As we always do after seeing things, we ask questions. Right? This is the perfect time that Jesus will create a relationship with the unbelievers. After they have seen all the things impossible for humans to do, they will resort to someone or something they can trust and have faith in. We are humans. We were created to have a relationship. We were created to have a relationship with our Creator. God’s will is for us to be with Him as children, co heir of Jesus Christ. This is why the Son of God Jesus humbled Himself and He Himself made a way that we can be brought back to our Heavenly Father.

v.27 “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him”.

Let us stick to the original plan. Let Jesus rule our lives and revelations will open up for us. It’s exciting that God is working with us just like our Master, Teacher and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with the Father. It is true that we are living in the most advanced technology of the time. Communication is in its fastest way possible. No doubt about it.
It is also true that God will never cease to communicate to us but sometimes they are delayed because the problem lies within ourselves. God communicates with us having nothing but the instructions straight to our hearts and minds, no gadgets making it the fastest.

Matthew 18

v. 1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?

v. 2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,

v. 3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

v. 4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Let us be like the Master, our Savior and Lord Jesus. Let us be the children of God. Unless we humble ourselves like our Lord Jesus Christ we will never have the contentment. Children realize their contentment only after following what they are asked to do. Nowadays some children complain first before doing whatever they are asked to do and this is exactly what we adults are! There are no differences between us and them. This is why Jesus said unless you turn yourselves like that of the children. The Son of God did not complain, turned Himself into a human or in other words humbled Himself and saved us.

One can make use of the cyber world to change. We can make promises to ourselves to make changes. A lot of things can be written all about changes but there is only one source that can make a true, genuine and guaranteed change in us and that source is our Lord and Savior the Master, Jesus Christ the source of life.

What is the difference between a gun and a car?

Scriptural Readings: 1st Corinthians 3:19-20, Romans 1:21-22

There will always be dissatisfaction or discontentment. Make sure about it. Otherwise we will not ask questions and look for better things in our lives. We will always need answers.

Out from curiosity and discontentment rise our questions. Have we ever asked ourselves why in the first place we raised such questions? We know that when we reach dissatisfaction and we have to address this we are going to ask the question why do we have to arrive at this place in our lives over and over again? The next thing and as always and normally we do is turn to our faculty of intelligence once again. This is where the valuable time is wasted because our questions will lead to other questions and therefore we have to be satisfied or otherwise continue to raise questions and look for satisfaction. One thing we know is that when we traced back in our lives from that time when we were looking for answers from the previous questions and finally we got it and the next thing we know is that we have fallen on this course and the cycle goes on. We are trapped in this situation. There could never be satisfaction.

1st Corinthians 3:19-20

v.19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

v.20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

There is no doubt that we are truly and totally incomplete being and incapable of having satisfaction and truly believing and living the idea to be fitted into a perfect way of living and out from our own finite minds that we look and rely for answers.

We have to be reminded always that even acquiring the highest ability of obtaining answers we will discover at times it will suffice but our uncertainties embedded in us looking for more truth and that even our own lifetime will never reach the satisfaction that we are looking for. What is out there that we rely on wisdom of this world will never ever give us the right and perfect answer. The highest attainable knowledge that humans can be having is not even close to what God is and has.

Romans 1:21-22

v. 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified [him] not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

v. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

We have detached ourselves from the original purpose God has for us. Instead of reaching out for Jesus for everything that we need, we concocted our own way to live our lives. We think that guns were made to kill. Yes, it will be utilize to eradicate evil in the society but then again it can be used to kill the innocent. A car can be made in to an ambulance saving humans it could also be use to run away from a crime. We make arguments on these and more seeking and thinking one would be right and the other wrong. We profess we are wise but the truth is we are fools.

We think we know the answer to anything and everything. We theorize hoping the answer is just around the corner. Aside and outside from Jesus there are no possible answers. We will continue to have dissatisfaction and discontentment until we accept the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary. Only Jesus can truly give satisfaction and contentment. He will fulfill all God’s promises as soon as we accept Him as Lord and Savior. We will continue to have revelations as soon as we put our full trust and faith in Him. We can now clearly see the difference between our foolish life we are living before and the new life that we have in Jesus Christ.

No Christian is exempted.

Scriptural Readings: Matthew 10:30, John 11:26, Matthew 10:32, Galatians 5:22-23, John 15: 5,8

How do many of us react with feelings in an instant? Making feelings as a gauge? Sometimes we do sometimes we don’t. We have to be honest to ourselves. One thing is true and that is the difficulty to choose between what we feel is right and our final decisions. Feelings and decisions are two different things that we have to settle. One way or the other we are going to make a decision and more often we have a lot of things to consider and more time to think ending up not quite sure.

We have to make a decision. Yes this is true and one way or the other we are going to make use of our feelings. The question is where is Jesus in this endeavour of ours.

Matthew 10:30

But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

Love is intrinsic in us. Despite the fact that we are sinners, God left us with love. He did not take away the love inside of us. This is the reason why we have to share this love. God is Love. He wants us to spread this love. This is the gospel of Jesus Christ(John 3:16). We should not forget that we are created in the image of God. We are handcrafted by God. Each and everyone of us is very important in His eyes. He knows us from top to bottom, inside out.

Our relationship to God through Jesus is the most important thing that would ever happen in our lives. Our decisions outside God’s will can sometimes come into fruition but will never come into full satisfaction. We are saturated with things on the internet with arguments from a Christian to another. Our byword is “this is what my pastor says”. Did it ever cross our minds what Jesus says? We are encouraged to buy books that have no intention of telling us to trust the finished work of Jesus at Calvary instead of reading and studying the bible. The difficulty of seeing the right answers for our lives and our sick society is so remote because the answer who is Jesus the son of the living God is not even an option for others. We have the marching order that we have to spread the good news of Jesus Christ.

John 11:26

And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Matthew 10:32

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

There should be no exemption when we say we are Christians. Our acts, decisions and endeavours should be God’s revelation through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We should be carrying the Gospel of Jesus Christ with us. This is what we have that others do not have. We have the Gospel. We have Jesus who died on the cross for us. This is salvation by grace not by works. He rose from the dead giving us eternal life taking us with Him living together with the Father and the Holy Spirit forever.

Galatians 5:22-23

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

How can we know we become a real Christian? We pray and ask God for the fruit of the Holy Spirit that we would be christ-like. In this way we can be identified as followers of Jesus Christ. What would possibly happen next is to wait. Right?

John 15:5

I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

John 15:8

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

The fruit of the Holy Spirit will only be seen in us if we continue having a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the son of the living God. As we enjoy a time with Jesus, the fruit of the Holy Spirit will be seen in us. The time that we are having with Him, the fruit will be produced in us coming from the Father. We have to be first, attached to the vine and the fruit will be developed in us and manifested which cannot be acquired overnight. A thing that is impossible and cannot be produced by ourselves and only Jesus can. Our Christians lives should be dependent on Him. The reality of spirituality is in Jesus Christ. This is the decision and the direction that we will never ever regret to abide in the Son of the Living God… Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. Now we have no reason why we should not spread the good news of Jesus Christ. No Christian is exempted. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

“Lazarus come…..”

Scriptural Readings: John 10:27-28, John 11:43

A busted car engine is simply dead and cannot take us anywhere. It’s dead engine needs someone to work on it again otherwise it is forever dead. The engine for whatsoever reason cannot receive communication from the different parts of the car making it dead, unproductive and worthless.

John 10:27-28

27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.

This thing is not really far from what we might be thinking right now. We cannot go anywhere with our spiritual status because we are simply dead with the things that we really needed. Dead means no communication. Unless we hear the God’s voice and His revelations then and only then we can move forward with assurance and confidence.

John 11:43

43 When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”

The word of God is always true on this matter. We are dead and there is only One way that can make things alive again and that voice continually raised saying to us rise and that voice is the voice of Jesus Christ. Jesus with a loud voice is asking us to rise. We could be dead on something that he wants us to do. Just like Lazarus He loves us so much. This is the first thing that He wants us to know!

We have a purpose in life. God through Jesus has given us a mission to accomplish and unless we continually are dead we cannot have revelations unless Jesus will bring us back to life we will never accomplish these missions for God’s glorification.

We have to come out from the things that make us dead from the reality that without God’s intervention in our lives we will remain inside our graves dead to what is supposed to be a wonderful relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that would lead to satisfaction and contentment and above all God’s glorification.

As Christians we should hear His voice. A thing that we have to do and should not end there because Jesus has His revelations for us. As sheeps, the only voice that we are going to hear is the voice of God in Jesus Christ not what others opinions and what they say and do, not in books that offer a lot of options on how to live life. Just like Lazarus who was dead and with God’s power through Jesus Christ heard God’s voice come out from the grave. Jesus is alive and we are the ones who are dead. We are the ones who should hear the voice telling us to follow Him. Once we hear His voice, it is time to act on it. It is the acting upon that will make us truly alive in Him.

The way the truth and the life of praise and worship are all that matters.

Scriptural Readings: John 14:6; John 4:23-24; Psalm 8:2; Matthew 11:25;21:16

Our God inhabits praise. Eternity of praise and worship is the place where our God is. Have we ever asked ourselves why we praise our God? There are many reasons why
It is a fact that we will always look for the way the truth and eventually the life we are looking for. In order that we can have the things that we needed we have to come to a place where God is.

John 14:6

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

It is plain and simple. God sent Jesus as the only way to Him. However, in spiritual matters it seems that we are lost on our way. It is important that we should know that the way to our God is through Jesus in a spiritual manner. In dealing with our spirituality, mostly is that we deal with the things that we see and things that we can touch which will never and ever have any spiritual value. Many christians nowadays are into many things to depend on their spirituality through certain kinds of principles, church attendance and things that merely show us how to be spiritual. Even some of us are following some other Christians way of living and to end up spiritual nothingness. Jesus is the way. The only way the only truth and the only life. Our spiritual relationship with Him, only in HIm, not what we see and hear from others not from or any form of process going through the Father. It is not important of how many doctrines we know or methods of how we become a good pastor or evangelist. The center of Christianity is Jesus. It is all about and nothing more than knowing Jesus the Son of the living God. The bottom line is that how much we know about Jesus the son of the living God.

I am the way

A lot of Christians nowadays are still looking for the right methods or formula on how to live the way, the Christian way. One of the many ways that we do is to look at other Christian’s life. We noticed that there are Christians whose prayers are always answered. Almost every time they pray their prayers were granted by God. Now we ask ourselves why. We also have the same faith as they have. It seems that we put a blame on God if we think this way. So, the next thing to do is to do whatever they are doing. Right? We copy and do their methods and formulas. We do the same things that they are doing, we focus on the things and times we memorize exactly the words and process they are doing it and only then to find out we arrive at the same situation. The big difference is that these Christians found the way. Jesus the living God, the only way, not the doctrine, not the principle or any other method. In spiritual matters apart from Jesus will not have any effect. They will not have any spiritual essence or value. If we are not going to ask the Lord for revelations and diligently seek Him it will be worthless. We are turned into real Christians by begetting and not by teaching. What is wrong is that we make sure to remember, memorize and many more details on doctrines, methods and a lot of more and not turning our faith on Jesus the only way.

the truth

How many of us can say truthfully that we are living in the truth? Many of us will claim that we follow the right doctrines about Jesus Christ about truth and words of expositions about truth concerning Him. The truth is He is the truth. Take for instance hatred. Today many Christians accept apology. The question now is after accepting the apology, is the hatred still there? Jesus said that if our brothers sinned seven times we should forgive him seventy times seven (Matthew 18:21-22). What is really sad about is that after we have been born again for many years we retain certain grudges against other christians and non Christians as well. The truth is not in us. This truth is just merely a doctrine that we follow and not the genuine truth that we claim to be having. If we do not have Jesus living in us all these truth, belief and actions we claim to be are lies. And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free(John 8:32) and this is Jesus the truth and the only truth.

and the life

He is the life. We always have the notion of works when we think of life. In the spiritual realm, we cannot replace life by our works. Works come only after the revelations of the life Jesus in us. Jesus Christ is life Himself. At times we are always mistaken. If we see a person who has a perfect manner in ways or morally upright, can we perfectly say that he has the life what is the life of Jesus? These things come naturally. A person can be soft spoken, never would like to argue and a lot more attractive manners but we cannot fully say that person has the life of Christ. We have to know the Lord. Life is not about excitement and what our feelings, emotions, success and achievements can reach to its highest peak. The true life is Jesus emitting from inside us.

John 4

v.23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

v. 24 God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.

for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

Yes, when we pray, praise and worship HIm, He is magnified and glorified. This is spirituality is all about. God hears us our praise and this is where our spiritual value and essence is all about and coming to fruition worshipping HIm in spirit and truth.

Now that we know that Jesus is the way the truth and the life, now we can enter to the hour or time that we can praise and worship the Father in spirit and truth and we can be confident about this because we now know the way and the life.

Matthew 21:16

And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?

God perfected praise in us as soon as we come into being. He has put into our mouths what true praise and worship is all about. When we become fully matured Christian we can praise our God in spirit and truth. This is the place where God can meet us and He will be truly glorified, magnified and praised.

Matthew 11:25

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

Yes, God reveals things to us simple minded Christians, babes or babies referred to according to this passage. If we play the role of we know the best, we should be having second thoughts. We should think of humbleness. This is why Jesus was glorified because He humbled Himself.

When we praise Him we come to a place where God would meet us and listen to us. As we humble ourselves in His presence we understand fully our spirituality is all about. We understand ourselves better which leads us to the narrow way but straight to God.

Beating the purpose

Scriptural readings: Romans 8:11-17; Galatians 5:19-25

Life has a purpose. There is no doubt that most of us would agree but the things is sometimes we might have overlooked it. We might think that a grain of sand seems to be use less but if collectively taken inside a glass aquarium tank they become a part making a balanced ecology.

Romans 8:11-17

v.11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

What would be the reason why the Spirit inside of us decided to quicken our mortal bodies the same Spirit raised up Jesus from the dead?

v.12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

v.13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

There are two things that our lives will result into. Follow the first, to live after the flesh….ye shall die or living through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

The purpose of life is very clear. We have to live in the spirit but we and is very clear that we should not to live after the flesh.

Galatians 5:19-21

v.19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

v.20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

v.21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Romans 8:14-17

v.14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

v.15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

v.16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

v.17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with [him], that we may be also glorified together.

In order to beat the purpose of the flesh, we have to be led by the Spirit of God and this is the same Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead that dwell in us.

Galatians 5:22-25

v.22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

v.23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

v.24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

v.25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

If we try to beat the purpose of the flesh by our own it is useless. We have to live by the spirit. The Holy Spirit Who will be with in us will produce the fruits would in turn make us to live in the Spirit and we will also walk in the Spirit.

The equation of forgiveness…Love.

Scriptural Readings: Romans 6:23; I John 1:6; Proverbs 10:12; 1 John 4:8; 19-20; Galatians 2:20; Philippians 4:13

This word seems to be the most impossible thing for us to do. There were times we cannot even get close to compromise with it. What makes it difficult to forgive? Have we ever reached a time that we completely tell and felt the true meaning of this word forgiveness? What is the prize of being forgiven?

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death.

We have heard this verse countless times but the question is does it really have the impact on us. Have we really confronted ourselves seriously this matter with our spiritual lives? If we are going to make this as an equation, sin without forgiveness is death.

but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Forgiveness through God the Son Jesus Christ resulted to eternal life. Jesus Christ and forgiveness are the constant in the equation. If we are going to take away one from this equation there is no eternal life. What would be result if there will be no forgiveness or if Jesus did not die for us?

No Forgiveness. No Jesus Christ. We are doomed.

To live in a hostile world, we have to remind ourselves always the equation of forgiveness and the Lord Jesus Christ otherwise we are befriending the enemy.

I John 1:6

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

The problem that we have is the retention of hatred in our hearts. It is impossible to live as a Christian if we have hatred and we say Jesus is in our hearts. This is a lie. We do not the truth.

1 John 4:19-20

We love because God first loved us. Whoever says, “I love God,” but hates his brother is a liar. The one who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love the God whom he has not seen.

Proverbs 10:12

Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs.

This is a simple fact. Once we Christians hate someone we become liars.

We cannot love God but because God loved us first, we learn to love and this means love covers over all wrongs. FORGIVENESS.

This is now the new equation.

1 John 4:8

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

Galatians 2:20

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

New International Version

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Love plus forgiveness is the result of the true meaning of being a Christian that Christ lives in me and to live by faith in the Son of God.

God’s forgiveness through the finished work of His son Jesus Christ at calvary has given us the access to everything. To live by faith in the Son of God, we learn to love because God first loved us. Now we can be confident. We know how to love because Jesus Christ lives in us and now we can see God through Jesus our Lord and Saviour.

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

This is the power of love. The capacity to forgive. Love surfaces and hatred disappear. The impossible becomes possible. I can do all things… like having forgiveness to those people who hurt us…. the confidence of having assurance of peace in our hearts even being caught in the middle of restlessness and uncertainties happening around us…the bright future in our lives which seems to be just a dream……. through Christ which strengtheneth me.
AMEN!

Why it’s….sacrifice.

Scriptural Readings: Matthew 6:33 ; John 3:16

Time and again we’ve failed and fallen into a wrong way of sacrifice. We might have taken the right path but along the way only to find out that we have to stop because we had the wrong choice.

Sometimes it is a gray area when we Christians try to understand what sacrifice really means. Most of the time we have based our conclusion on what we believe is God’s will and sometimes we came up with something and only at the end it isn’t reliable(most of the time). Again the question is always how to know God’s will.

Why do we seek His kingdom?

Matthew 6:33

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

We get lost. We are always in need and this is why we have to seek the kingdom of God and if this becomes an attitude, we’ll be having blessings. Our prayers will be granted because it is His will we are asking and looking for and not of our own. This is the big change we are after for.

When we accepted Jesus Christ into our hearts and lives. We start a new life. A sacrificial life. A continuing life of denying ourselves all for the glorification of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Sacrifice

We have attached a lot of meanings into this word entering into a gray area. There were times it wasn’t clear why we sacrificed something or we sacrificed something leaving us regretful.

The thing that’s always clear is that God has always something for us to accomplish for Him. God wants us to know His will. Our spirits should always be open to receive God’s instructions which would then cooperate with our minds and ready for our bodies to accomplish and eventually sacrificing our lives for Him.

Jesus Christ sacrificed His Life for only one cause and reason and that is saving not only for a few or for some but redemption for everyone.

The line that divides on what we think and do is the cross of Jesus Christ. Once we exhaust our efforts that does not elevate the finished work of the shedding of the precious blood of Jesus Christ at Calvary is with no sense.

John 3:16

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

There are many ways to express love. The word love in Greek has a lot of meaning. Phileo meaning a brotherly and friendship love. Storge is a kind of love that expresses and relates to natural, familial love such as the love between a parent and child. Eros is a kind of love that expresses and relates to natural urge for procreative urges and finally AGAPE a sacrificial kind of love. This is God’s love putting one’s life behind God making Him above everything.

The life of our Lord Jesus Christ was purely a sacrificed life. From the place He was born until the time He died are places that no one would never even dream about.

It’s now therefore clear that our contentment lies before God. All our actions are dependent on what God will instruct us. We have to crave for His kingdom and start having a sacrificial agape kind of love. This is why it’s….sacrifice.

Deception

Scriptural Readings: Luke 23:34

The question of why has always been a burden to us. Sometimes it is a lot easier to point out what or how and when unfortunate things happen but to figure out why would always take time, effort and much more.

Why did God put both the tree of knowledge of good and evil and the tree of life into the same place? Why did He let the serpent deceive them from the very place God prepared for them? If we ask how, when and where, it’s in His wisdom. The question that we have to ask ourselves is why. After they committed the sin why did God ask him(Adam)where he was. Of course God knows where he was. Why did God ask him who told them they were naked? This time it was the woman’s turn to explain and God asked her what have you done?

Have we asked ourselves why God did not ask them why?

Freewill. God gave us the gift of volition the faculty or power of using one’s will. God did not equipped in us an automated process otherwise it’s no use of creating us as His children calling Him Father and for us to experience a wonderful relationship with Him.

When we are deceived we are in the realm of deception. We are blind to the truth. When our first parents violated God they knew themselves that they disobey God. God will not ask them anymore why. Their eyes were opened to the reality that they became blind to the truth that they cannot be like God.

The result of course are more lies, mistakes and all the things that make our lives miserable.

Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

When confronting personal issues or social issues we will be having a lot of options and most probably they will be unreliable but if we go to the cross we only have one answer. Jesus Christ. Through Him the question of why will no longer be a burden but a satisfying truth to our question why. We were forgiven.

We should now stop asking why but rather accept the finished work of Jesus at calvary.

Let’s exhaust all our efforts on the cross. All of our undertakings will be pointless unless we accept what Jesus did on the cross at calvary.

God will not ask us of where we are. He will not ask who told us we are His children and ask us what we did. He will not ask anything more because this time we know the way the truth and the life. Jesus Christ the Son of the living God our Lord and Savior.

Contentment….Collaboration….Crime..

Scriptural Readings: Phillipians 4:11

Living in this world where good and evil simultaneously exist, we are easily entangled with difficulties on how to figure out whether our decisions would end up morally right or otherwise ending up with saying the words I am sorry.

Contentment is a thing that we have to learn more. We can refer contentment like that of the tree of good and evil or the tree of life.

Phillipians 4:11

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, [therewith] to be content.

It is very clear that contentment refers to not only on our overall status as humans but also to our spiritual beings.

If we do not speak and crave of more of our wants anymore but what God has to say what we need then God has truly worked on us. This verse has taken the apostle Paul to the highest level of contentment.

Adam and Eve were in a contented status. They were allowed to live in a place a lot of us probably would have. They have food water and the best shelter. What happened next is that they messed up with everything and fell into committing the biggest mistake of their lives.

Collaborate. The same as contentment, it offers us a lot of good things and also a ton of regrets at the end if not dealt rightfully.

If we allow our contentment to be compromised and would collaborate with something that we are not sure of and with no assurance of spiritual essence then the probability of ending up as a sure loser is inevitable, in Christianity it is called sin. From the beginning humanity has contentment. It can be found in us. However, collaborating with evil thoughts resulted into what God will never and ever be glad about.

Racism, poverty are only some of the many issues that we insist on having justice or suffer from injustice. The real issue and the question that we have to ask ourselves is would there be racism if we do not have hatred in our hearts? Will these issues remain in us if we have forgiveness in our hearts instead we are consumed by hatred? Evil is with in us whether there is racism, poverty and other issues or not. The evil with in us collaborates with our spirits, soul and body turning ourselves to be slaves of evil works. Racism, poverty and other social issues are tools to make us fit into our doom. These are the devil’s quickest way for us to destroy our relationship with God. Hatred is not from God but it is within racism, poverty and many more. To go out on the streets to practice our right to express, in truth is we are expressing and increasing hatred in us. Going out on the streets expressing our rights would only expose our true selves harboring hatred and losing the real value of justice. Remember that rebellion can be in our minds in our words and in our actions. Once our minds, words and actions collaborate with hatred, evil is at work and if we succomb to it, we are now guilty of crime. Sin. Haven’t we learned from our history? Haven’t we’ve seen enough hatred on every part of this world when we watch the news?

Crime is not an option but humanity chose it. Right from the start, our first parents having contentment collaborated with evil and chose to disobey God. Jesus, on the other hand commanded us to love our enemies. This means that hatred would be displaced out from our hearts. We should get rid of hatred in our lives. For as long as we have hatred in our hearts we will never have peace and we will continue to be discontented and go out on the streets. Justice was served when Jesus said “It’s done”. Let us follow what God has instructed us and not to be consumed by hatred. Let the Holy Spirit flow in our spirit, soul and body displacing hatred with peace.

Heavenly Father, there is so much hatred in our hearts and only you can take this out from us. Empower us with your Holy Spirit continually that we may know your will and not ours. We pray through your Son Jesus our Lord Savior. Amen!
