The way of healing…

Scriptural Readings: Mark 5:24-28

What are we going to do when we arrive in times of need? We are of course having a very sure clear cut of our intentions. This is of course the normal, natural and human way.

v.24 And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him

V.25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,

V.26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,

V.27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind and touched his garment.

Just like this woman, who I believe represents us this modern times had a need of time of healing which I think is very normal. It is natural for us to find healing because this is the human way.

Now we ask a question. Why is it that in time of needs God seems to be far from us. We are in the brink of death and we are still waiting for God’s answer. We have claimed the healing and victory on every sort of problem in our lives but still nothing awaits us.

If one would think it was the right time for her to heal. I think it is not. It could not be the right time for her to touch the garment of our Lord Jesus. She could have been pushed away from the Lord Jesus and the possibilities would be countless. How was she able to come close?

God knows her and her eagerness to heal and the arrival of Jesus is God’s time and will. We know in the story that she had been to a lot of kinds of doctors and she exhausted all her efforts and money and yet left suffering. God knew she was desperate during those times. God could have healed her earlier.

V. 28 For she said, if I may touch bit his clothes, I shall be whole.

It was God’s will. This was the exact time and God’s will that she has to touch the garment of Jesus. Her eagerness has now aligned with God’s will.

We have to put in mind and it should be the primary intention for us to know God’s will. We should have the attitude of Your will be done not mine.

Have we experienced this? Are we having the same predicament today? We know that there will be healing. We know and we claim with our faith that God had the answer but we do not know His will thus making it more important to know His will first. The healing we are having is not just for the purpose of healing. There will be more favoring us. God will heal us from inside out.

A crisis is a thing that blinds us from realities. Our main focus at once or immedeately is how to get rid of this, again this is normal. We seek the natural and trust our human ways instead of being spiritual first.

Our God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will never leave us nor forsake us. He knows everything but the thing is that we are always occupied by our own human knowledge and ways 24/7 which can never and ever will be the solution to our problems.

Let us spend more time on spiritual matters. Let us draw near to our God and He will draw near to us. The Holy Spirit is our comforter and He is always with us as Jesus promised. What could we ask for more.

Heavenly Father, let us know your will and let your will be done. Teach us not to rely on our futile ways and give us Your wisdom that we may follow Your given path for us. Let your Holy Spirit flow through us that we may do Your perfect will. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!

Why faith not feelings.

Scriptural Readings: Mark 10:37; Matthew 16:22-23; Luke 23:39-42; Luke 17:11-14;

Maybe at this point of time for most of us are having difficulties how to deal with our lives, whether we are struggling with personal problems or dealing with the world problems, our feelings still dictate a lot of things to us. Sadness, boredom are only few of the things to mention. People are out on the streets angry fighting for their cause. Some people are mad because for some reasons the government decided things that will make them hungry. Everyone of us has the right to do this to express our feelings and sentiments.

Mark 10:37 They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on the right and the other on thy left, in thy glory.

It does not sound as a demand but more likely a request but then Jesus said it not for Him to decide on this matter. These two disciples might be having somethings in their minds that might have the approval from God but then again ended up as a failure because this is what they feel and think.

Matthew 16:22-23

V.22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.

V.23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence to me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

Peter having a larger than this world desire that our Lord Jesus would not be harmed and would protect Him at all cost ended up denying Him at the end and much more wept bitterly.

Luke 23:39-42

V.39 One of the criminals who were hanged there was hurling abuse at Him, saying, “Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us!”

V.40 But the other answered, and rebuking him said, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation?

V.41 “And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.”

V.42 And he was saying, “Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!”

The man beside Jesus who said he wanted to be with Him in paradise got he wanted for. Why? FAITH.

Luke 17:11-14

11 Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee.

12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance

13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”

14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.

The lepers who, yes, because the feeling of being unwanted in the society resorted to FAITH and they were healed.

John 11:21-27

21 “Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died.

22 But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.”

23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”

24 Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies;

26 and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

27 “Yes, Lord,” she told him, “I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world.”

Martha was mourning for her brother’s death said if Jesus could have been there would not have died. Of course, the tables were turned and at the end Lazarus was coming out of the grave all because they have FAITH in Him.

At first, these are all feelings. They are all unreliable, heartbreaking and the list goes on and once FAITH comes into the picture, we are saved from these harsh realities.

It is not a question anymore whether you went outside to fight for your right or stay home for safety or just being spectators in a certain fight. It is the question if you have done these things having faith in God doing His will or just having the feelings to do it. Feelings should not come first before FAITH. FAITH concerns God. The stronger our FAITH, the more we become firm and certain with our feelings and actions with our decisions.

Feelings come from us. These things coming from us and not from God makes us unstable and unreliable that would surely result to the things we never expected.

There are more than a million reasons why we always use our feelings and think that it would certainly work but surely ending up on the wrong side.

Take the opportunity to seek and know God’s will during this trying times whether we are inside our home or outside fighting for rights. It has to be God that should be glorified during this time because after all and again it is God who will take us out of this ordeal.

Heavenly Father, confusion clouds everything you want us to do your will. Feelings have become stronger than faith. Again we come boldly unto your throne of grace. Let faith increase in us that we might see and do your will and not on our feelings that brought us to shame. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Pure unadulterated happiness

Scriptural Readings: Genesis 33:10Matthew 13:15; Matthew 18: 23-35

The reality we see right now is that hatred is dominating around the globe. We can say for sure that love is definitely missing when people from their very own country starts mass fleeing. When someone shoots randomly killing many, there should be a reason why such an act was done. We should ask ourselves why is hatred is being acquired easily like a virus today.

Genesis 33:10

And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight, then receive my present at my hand: for therefore I have seen thy face, as though I had seen the face of God, and thou wast pleased with me.

“No please,” said Jacob. If I have found favor in your eyes, accept this gift from me. For to see your face is like seeing the face of God.

This is the part that Jacob was really scared to death and made some strategies on how to deal with his brother Esau only to end what it should be, forgiveness.

What is the feeling if we have these words “…for therefore I have seen thy face, as though I had seen the face of God….?

As a Christian to see God’s face is the thing that we are longing for. Right? Being and having in the presence of God is like the same as having our own selves in heaven. These words from Jacob is something not only powerful but divine as well. We can only be truly freed from guilt if we will be forgiven therefore restoring our relationship with God and this also means that God can let us have all the things He wants us to have and perhaps even seeing Him face to face!

If we have ideas of happiness based on something or somethings and not based on what God has for us instead, we are having only the second best. It is better that we see happiness something like as loads of hatreds being lifted from us. If this happens to us, it is not really difficult to see God’s face. Now we can freely say that I have seen God!

It is a lot easier for us to hurt someone and sometimes it would take forever to heal. As Christians, if we hurt someone, this is the most difficult thing for us to deal with(I am not an exemption, by the way!). Forgiveness floods us with God’s love.

God is Love. Love is the one that drives us to forgive someone. The conviction from the Holy Spirit. It is God’s Spirit telling us practicing love to its final and ultimate meaning. This is happiness in its purest and unadulterated essence.

Matthew 13:15

For the hearts of these people are hardened, and their ears cannot hear, and they have closed their eyes so their eyes cannot see, and their ears cannot hear, and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to me and let me heal them.

Most us are hurting today. If our hearts are hardened, how can we understand them. We cannot fully hear what they say. They are longing for love and we are totally blind on this. We need God! We need Jesus Christ for the healing!

Matthew 18: 23-35

v. 23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

v.24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.

v.25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

v.26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

v.27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

v.28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took [him] by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.

v.29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

v.30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

v.31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

v.32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:

v.33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

v.34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

v.35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

Yes, it is really difficult for anyone to forgive someone but if this is the only thing that would restore us the relationship between us and God then, we have no choice. Option is not an option for us Christians and that is why God sent His son restoring our relationship to the Father. God did not have options on restoring our relationship with Him. He forgave us. He has forgiven us. He is the only way. There is no other truth than this. He healed us and brought us back our lives to the Father and this is now the pure and unadulterated happiness we are looking and longing for.

Heavenly Father, we always fall into having an unforgiving heart and it is always difficult for us to forgive. Let your love embrace us through your Son Jesus. Lord Jesus come into our lives and continue to change us to the person You want us to be. Holy Spirit, empower us that we might continue the works of our Lord Jesus Christ and experience what truly happiness is. In his Mighty name we pray! Amen.
